Don’t want a subscription?
Buy a single series for $3.99 and keep it. One payment, no renewal, yours to read and download for as long as you have an account. There is a “buy this series” button on every premium series page.
Cheaper than a month of premium if you only want one story — which is a real thing people want, and no reason to sell them a subscription instead.
What the others charge
Their published prices, with the date we last checked and a link to where we read them. No struck-through numbers of our own invention — if you find one of these out of date, tell us and we will fix it.
It is not a complete list, and it includes platforms that beat us. If the series you want all come from one publisher, their own app is likely cheaper and we would rather you knew — we are the better deal when you read widely.
| Platform | Monthly | How it works |
|---|---|---|
| ComicFlow | $4.99 | One subscription, whole catalog. No currency of any kind. |
| Toomics | $11.99 | VIP subscription, with coins sold separately for some titles — and no free reading at all. Some titles still cost currency on top of the subscription. |
| Honeytoon | $16.99 | A VIP membership, or coins bought per episode — their own gate offers the two as alternatives, not one on top of the other. |
| WEBTOON | $3.99 | Free with ads, plus coins. The subscription tops your coin balance up each month; it does not unlock the catalog. Some titles still cost currency on top of the subscription. |
| MANGA Plus | $1.99 | Free with ads, plus a flat subscription in two tiers — their plans sell access, not a currency. |
| Tapas | — | Ink, their virtual currency, and nothing else — there is no subscription to buy, so unlocking is always per episode. |
- Toomics: checked 21 August 2026 — source · This is the standard monthly web rate; prepaying two or three months at a time is advertised lower, and their iOS prices differ again.
- Honeytoon: checked 22 August 2026 — source · This is the regular four-week rate. It was discounted when read, renewals are advertised lower or at the regular price depending on the terms taken, and prepaying twelve or twenty-four weeks at a time is cheaper again. The plan they label monthly bills every four weeks, so it renews thirteen times a year rather than twelve.
- WEBTOON: checked 21 August 2026 — source · The entry tier of four, and it carries no episode discount. Sold only in the mobile apps, and coins bought on one platform cannot be spent on the other.
- MANGA Plus: checked 21 August 2026 — source · The entry tier: on it, completed series stop being readable after a while, and the tier that keeps them costs the same as our own subscription. First month free, prices are the U.S. ones, and their page notes select ads may still show to subscribers.
- Tapas: checked 21 August 2026 — source · They do not publish their Ink pack prices outside a logged-in shop, so there is no monthly figure to compare and we are not going to invent one.
Where the $4.99 goes
Servers and bandwidth for a lot of very large images, storage for the catalog, payment processing, and the work of building and running the platform. We would rather tell you than let you guess.
What we don’t do
- No auto-renewal you have to hunt for — cancelling is one tap in your account.
- No ads, and no selling what you read.
- No coins, tokens, daily passes, or wait-to-unlock timers.
- No price that quietly rises after an introductory period.
